I installed a new graphics card, and now my internet wont work?

so i bought a new graphics card for my pc. and when i put it in, and tried to get onto the internet to download the drivers, and my internet wouldnt connect. it is a wired connection, but my wireless connection works perfectly, and they come out of the same router. i tried restarting my computer and the modem and the router and everything and that still didnt work. could i have broken something inside my computer that connects to the internet trying to install the graphics card? please help i am going crazy trying to figure this out. oh, and i have windows XP
