I dont know how to talk to my boyfriend??!!?

Okay so my best guy friend and I started dating about a week or so ago. We are really close and everything but we really didnt text that much when we were just friends and we really dont text that much now even though were going out. Also like he doesnt really do like boyfriendish things like tell me cute things or anything like all my past relationships have. Basically he acts like were still best friends but now we hold hands and hook up and stuff like that. How do i make this emotional transition? Its not like its awkward or anything but i really just want to lk move on into a boyfriend that way too, like all my other ones we would talk on the phone before bed and tell eachother how much we like eachother and stuff. I guess maybe hes shy about it idk? lk i really wanna know if im his first girlfriend that he hooked up with but for some reason i cant bring myself to ask him these questions. Advice Please!!???
